As part of an effort to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccines, NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital teamed up with New York State to open a pop-up vaccination site at the Kiley Youth Center in Peekskill. On Saturday, February 6, they successfully vaccinated more than 200 senior residents of Peekskill, including 102-year-old Carmela D’Urso and her two friends, Frances Caputo and Ida Wiseman, who are known among their friends as “The Golden Girls.” While she was getting her shot, Carmela also shared the secret to her longevity. She only cooks with olive oil and says “you gotta keep moving and eat your greens!”
