Catholic Health Collaborates with NewYork-Presbyterian to Expand Access to World-Class Heart Care
Catholic Health and NewYork-Presbyterian, two leading health care systems serving the New York metropolitan area, announced they have signed a clinical collaboration agreement to provide an unparalleled level of cardiac care in Long Island.
Together, the health care systems will advance best-in-class cardiovascular care on Long Island. The collaboration will initially focus on expanding St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center®’s advanced heart failure, adult congenital heart disease and pediatric cardiology programs, while also extending NewYork-Presbyterian’s leading heart transplant program to Long Island, where patients can access the very best pre-and post-transplant continuum of care at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center®.
“Catholic Health and St. Francis have each earned a national reputation for excellence in cardiovascular care across a number of sub-specialties,” said Dr. Patrick O’Shaughnessy, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health. “This unique collaboration between two of the nation’s top-ranked cardiology programs will ensure that more types of cardiac patients are provided the highest level of care closer to where they live and work.”
Through this collaboration, patients who receive treatment from St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center® will also now have access to NewYork-Presbyterian’s world-class cardiac care, programs, and expertise, providing seamless continuity of care. Additionally, NewYork-Presbyterian patients will benefit by having access to exceptional heart care on Long Island. The agreement also creates opportunities for physicians to expand clinical research, enhance advanced analytic capabilities, and develop staff training programs.
