NewYork-Presbyterian Wins Two Platinum PR Awards

On October 27, NewYork-Presbyterian’s Office of Communications won Platinum PR Awards for best Public Affairs campaign for its COVID-19 response and for best Blog for Health Matters’ coronavirus content. Given annually by PRNEWS, the awards have set the industry standard in public relations excellence and recognize the most outstanding communication initiatives and PR teams from across the world.  

Since March, when the pandemic first hit New York City, NewYork-Presbyterian has been at the forefront of handling the COVID-19 public health crisis. The communications team worked around the clock to keep patients and their families — as well as New York City and the surrounding communities — informed about the virus and the hospital’s response. Honorable mentions in the Public Affairs category included standout campaigns by NASA, the U.S. Postal Service, and the National Fair Housing Alliance.

Health Matters became a go-to resource for patients and consumers seeking essential information related to COVID-19. Featuring insight and advice from NewYork-Presbyterian’s leading medical experts, Health Matters reached a global audience through a series of popular stories, including “How to Protect Yourself from Coronavirus,” “A Road Map to Finding Calm Amid Coronavirus Anxiety,” and “How to Tell the Difference Between COVID-19 and Seasonal Allergies.” Honorable mention in the Blog category went to Cisco.
